We’re celebrating! Our website has launched

Will you indulge us for a moment while we show off our new website? It feels like a new toy. We’re trying to resist the temptation to play with it all the time — or run into the street shouting `Look! Look at our new thing!’
The website was built by the lovely people at Pumpkin, so we’ll start with a big thank you to Neil and Sonya, and give them a well-deserved hurrah.
To celebrate the website launch, we’re using this space to tell you who we are, and what we stand for. Most importantly, we’ll explain how a small family-run business in Hampshire can bring you a warm, fuzzy feeling of pure happiness.
Spoiler alert: the warm happy feeling involves neuroscience.
Who are we?
We are Nibula Treats, and we believe you should experience the joy of giving without the hassle of shopping, queuing, wrapping and posting. We create luxury hampers which are beautifully packaged and full of indulgent treats — so you can send happiness without the hard work.
We’re a small family team. You can read more about the family and see some photos on our website `about us’ page (did we mention that it’s new?) but to give you a quick rundown, the Nibula family is…
-
Kate — Our organisational heart
-
Mark — The ideas engine
-
Oscar — The quiet analyst
-
Henry — The energiser bunny
… plus two very bouncy spaniels.
From our home to yours
There’s no factory production line, and there are definitely no AI robots involved in curating and packing our luxury gift hampers.
We do it ourselves at home, with love and care — and an attention to detail which would make brain surgery look a bit sloppy in comparison. Every hamper is packed to perfection. We make sure they look beautiful because that way, each hamper brings maximum joy to the person who receives it.
Now, we promised you some neuroscience, so here it comes.
The science of gifting (and why it makes us happy)
Neuroscientists have taken a close look at what happens to the brain during the act of giving. From brain imaging, they’ve discovered that gift giving lights up the area associated with reward and pleasure.
It’s the same brain area which stimulates the production of dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin — feel-good hormones connected to happiness and bonding. Interestingly, the gift giver gets the same happy hormones as the person receiving the gift.
It’s a two-way street which creates a sense of trust between giver and receiver.
This is almost certainly why we’ve given gifts to each other since, well, forever. Early humans may not have known about neuroscience, but they definitely understood that gifting strengthens social bonds.

Sending a hamper is a gesture of thoughtfulness, appreciation and love.
The gift that keeps on giving
Gift giving is more than just a fleeting moment of joy. For the gift giver, it leaves a warm, fuzzy feeling that persists over time. In other words, if you’re kind to others, you’re also being kind to yourself.
Even better, when we do something lovely for someone else, they’re often inclined to pay it forward. In today’s stressful world, we could all do with more kindness — a warm glow of happiness which spreads to others around us.
Why hampers?
A luxury hamper is more than just a selection of tasty things to eat and drink, and it has a greater impact than a single gift. If you’ve ever received one, you’ll probably remember the delicious anticipation of uncovering each item, wondering what’s coming next.
Sending a hamper is a gesture of thoughtfulness, appreciation and love. The recipient remembers that kind gesture long after the contents have been polished off.
Your recipient can enjoy the contents by themselves, of course, although it’s the shareable nature of hampers which makes them such a great gift. Sharing food with others has been an important ritual for millennia. It goes right back to when we lived in caves, cooked on open fires and tried to avoid becoming lunch for predators. Again, it’s a bonding thing.
So, that’s a quick summary of who we are, and why gift hampers fit so well with what we believe in — the joy of gifting. From our family to yours, it’s a pleasure.
Thank you for reading and, while you’re here, do check out our new Nibula Treats website. Within its pages you’ll find a wealth of affordable luxury, wrapped and ready to gift.
