A Bar Snacks Collection with a Difference
If you follow our blog, you’ll know that our hamper ideas usually come from casual conversations or random comments. In this case, the idea for our Luxury Pub Snacks Hamper began with an email.
Out of the blue, we received an email from the wonderful Jane at Mr Filbert’s asking whether we’d be interested in trying out some of their savoury snacks. We weren’t going to turn down an opportunity to investigate a new range of delicious, gourmet snacks, so we knew there was a conversation to be had.
As soon as we spoke with Jane, we knew this was going to be something special. Not long after our initial chat, a box of samples arrived at our door.
Naturally, we took our taste-testing responsibilities very seriously. We munched our way through a veritable feast of crunchy snacks, juicy olives and snack meat. The verdict? This produce was on another level!
Just between us, we had been working with another snack supplier, but the team at Mr Filbert’s went above and beyond in more ways than one, and, quite frankly, their snacks blew our socks off! Everything tasted so fresh and packed with flavour, a truly premium selection of bar nibbles unlike anything we’d experienced before. From the first bite, it became clear that these weren’t your standard savoury snacks, these were the kind of products you build a hamper around. So, that’s exactly what we did!
Premium Snacks
As our relationship with the Mr Filbert’s team grew, Jane even came to visit us in person, and walkied us through the provenance behind the products.
The team at Mr Filbert’s went above and beyond in more ways than one.
Not only is it incredibly important to us to be able to support other local businesses, but the quality of the products we include in our hampers matters too. So, it’s even better when we are able to learn the origin stories behind the produce. We can share these stories with you, so you know that we’ve put real thought into curating our hampers to make them genuinely special.
The highlights that really stood out for us were the olives and the biltong. Two premium snacking essentials, in our opinion.
Jane explained that the garlic and rosemary marinated olives are sourced from Greece because, quite simply, no one closer could match the quality. It makes sense, the rain to sunshine ratio in the UK doesn’t exactly shout prime olive growing conditions!
The biltong, however, is reared locally in Wiltshire, practically on our doorstep and made using the best of Aberdeen Angus beef. With just a sprinkle of salt, pepper and seasoning to taste, it rivals any we’ve ever tasted (and we’ve done a lot of tasting homework!).
Jane was also incredibly supportive of Henry’s entrepreneurial journey and loved hearing how he began the business at just 15. She told us our iconic blue box stood out instantly from other hamper companies - something we’re still very proud of today.
But what impressed us most? The customer service. Not just from Jane, but from the entire Mr Filbert’s team. When you’re growing a business, having partners who genuinely want to support your journey makes all the difference.
A Savoury Hamper Made for Sharing
One thing we particularly love about our bar snacks selection is how there is something for everyone. Many of the snacks cater to different dietary preferences, including gluten-free and vegan options, making it a brilliant choice when you’re gifting to a household with varied tastes. Let’s be honest, bringing a gift that everyone can enjoy is always a win.
Deciding to include savoury snack hampers in our range has also opened the door for us to expand into even more specialist hampers in the future. It has also paved the way for the introduction of beautifully paired drinks. A new and exciting direction for Nibula. Who doesn’t love an olive with their martini or a salty nibble with their beer?
We’ve been exploring partnerships with fantastic brands such as Mermaid Gin and Fever-Tree, whose small-format bottles and premium mixers will complement these snacks perfectly.
And for those who prefer not to drink alcohol? We’re equally excited about the growing range of low and no-alcohol alternatives, allowing everyone to enjoy the experience without compromise.
(For the record - Henry has only approved the snack pairings. The gin tasting was left to Mark and Kate!)
